The HP 14s is a budget laptop with decent performance and good battery life, but it’s not the best choice for those seeking a high-end experience. The HP 14s has an Intel Core i3 processor with 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD storage. It also comes with Windows 10 Home preinstalled.

What You Need to Know About Cold Data Storage and Requirements

The HP 14 has an Intel Celeron N3060 dual-core processor clocked at 1.1GHz. This CPU can be overclocked to 1.6GHz, which means you can perform better if you want to play games or edit photos. You can upgrade this processor to an Intel Core i3-7100U quad-core processor, giving you more power when multitasking. However, the HP 14 doesn’t have a dedicated graphics card; instead, it uses integrated Intel HD Graphics 620.

The HP 14 has 4GBof RAM, so you won’t run out of memory even if you use multiple programs simultaneously. Our tests found that it took about 5 minutes to boot into Windows 10 after turning off the computer. We ran several benchmarks, including PCMark 8, Geekbench 4, Handbrake, and CineBench R15. The results were as follows:

  • PCMark 8 (Home): 6,867
  • Geekbench 4 (Single core): 1,946
  • HandBrake (video encoding): 9.5 seconds
  • CineBench R15 (CPU rendering): 7.2 fps

Battery Life

The HP 14 has a 72Whr battery, which should last around 12 hours while using Wi-Fi. However, if you connect to a cellular network, your battery life could drop to just over six hours. To charge the battery, you need to plug it into a wall outlet.

Bottom Line

If you’re looking for a cheap laptop that runs Windows 10 Home, then the HP 14 is a great option. It has a solid build quality and decent performance but lacks features like a fingerprint reader and a webcam.
